We start to explore by motor boats along the shadowed Cocos channel and the wider and calmer Mustaca channel. We have selected to tour the Holbina area, one of the most spectacular areas of the Danube Delta comprised of a network of small channels, ponds, smaller marshes, and ever-changing floating islets made of reeds (called "plaur" ), a paradise for the large flocks of birds. Here we stop our engines and glide on the crystal water in silence propelled by our boatsmen's oars. On our way back to the Anastasia, we'll stop for a short visit at a small fishery and meet some Lipovan fishermen. From early spring until late autumn, the Lipovans live in small traditional settlements erected on the banks of the channel.
After a late lunch on the floating hotel we continue our cruise on the rectified course of Sfantu Gheorghe channel to reach our overnight mooring station – the entrance of the Dranov channel.
Day 3:
Dranov channel is one of the oldest channels of the Danube Delta and together with Dunavat and Mustaca channels supplies lake Razim with fresh water. Some unconventional ways of fishing such as wooden fences reduced the water volume and width of the channel, making of this, one of the most enchanting Delta routes.
Very close to the channel's end we'll drop anchor and have lunch. We'll continue to explore the flooded woodlands of willow and poplar heading to lake Razim and the southern part of Holbina area by motor boats.
We'll return to the floating hotel for dinner after having visited Dranov fishery.
Day 4:
Perisor. The sun rises from the Black Sea and sets in the Delta, wildness and beauty, the beach and sand banks, white and yellow water lilys, willows, roots bents, channels and lakes, wild boars and wild hogs, sturgeons and pikes, pelicans and cormorants colony, seagulls and white egrets, peace and relaxation. In one word – fascinating.
Day 5:
Perisor islet. We are heading to Tarata for our walk on the islet. We'll see the abandoned fish pools renowned now for the pike fishing. On our way back we will keep our eyes open for otters, muskrats or raccoon dogs and birds nesting. After lunch we'll make all the preparations for a pitoresque dinner and campfire, you can choose between excursions with the boat or swimming and getting a tan at the sea.
Day 6:
Early in the morning, in the silence of the sunrise, we raise the anchor and we will sail upstream on the channel Dranov, maybe overflown by whitetailed eagles- eagle specie protected by law – continuing our journey to the final destination, Murighiol. We will serve lunch and we will say goodbye.
